From volunteering at a soup kitchen to lecturing on business at NYC Public Schools to motivate our youth, we believe in paying it forward.
In December 2007, out of love for the holiday season, CEO Nick Andreottola decided to throw a holiday party for friends, business associates and clients to come together over food, cocktails and music.
After seeing the 75 guests so happy, Nick decided to make the gathering an annual tradition. In 2008, a Secret Santa gift exchange was added to the festivities and in 2009, in order to expand/spread the spirit of giving, he implemented a toy drive. Unfortunately, since the initial event was spontaneously planned and not properly enforced, many people did not participate which left Nick’s hopes of generosity unmet/unfulfilled.
In 2010, the toy drive was implemented as mandatory – guests would not be admitted without a toy. This was a great success! 200 toys were collected and were delivered the next morning to the Marines at Toys for Tots in Times Square. Having seen their gratitude, Nick’s sole reaction was to endeavor to do it bigger and better than before.
He called on some goodhearted and trustworthy friends to create a committee to bring the plan to fruition. With the help of great people, Gansevoort Park Hotel and numerous luxury brands, Celebrate Your STATUS was born in 2011.
Nick’s goal was to gather the successful and influential people to do something good while having fun doing it.
That goal has certainly been met, and will expand from year to year! What started as a small gathering of friends during the holidays is now an authentic charity event and fundraiser. With the help of the Happy Hearts Fund (HHF), a non-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding schools and restoring hope and opportunity in the lives of children after natural disasters founded by Supermodel Petra Nemcova, 1400 toys were delivered from NYC to Haiti with hundreds of children waiting for Santa to arrive!
We also succeeded at raising $30,000 dollars, which was donated to HHF.
